Spring Charity Concert 2014

The "Hands On Tokyo Spring Charity Concert 2014” held at the Tokyo American Club on March 21st, opened with the sounds of the Date Kurofune Taiko drums.

The audience applauded the youthful voices of the American School in Japan Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the beautiful harmony and performance of the New York University Steinhardt School Madrigal Singers and Jazz Choir.

At the climatic moment of the concert, all the singers came together to sing “The Only Flower in the World” partially in Japanese.  This was followed by another Taiko drum performance that concluded the evening.

The proceeds from ticket sales and donations came to a total of 581,331 yen, 100% of which will go to funding Hands On Tokyo's future Tohoku projects.

Thank you very much for all your dedicated and generous support in support of Tohoku.

春のチャリティコンサート 2014

３月21日に、東京アメリカンクラブで開催された「ハンズオン東京 春のチャリティコンサート2014」は、伊達の黒船太鼓保存会の皆様が奏でる太鼓の響きで幕を開けました。American School in Japan Vocal Jazz Ensemble のさわやかな歌声、そして New York University Steinhardt School Madrigal Singers と Jazz Choir の美しいハーモニーとパフォーマンスに、会場からは大きな拍手がわき起こりました。クライマックスではシンガー全員が「世界に一つだけの花」を日本語を含めて歌い、最後はふたたび心を揺さぶる太鼓の演奏。お越しくださった200名の観客の皆様の大歓声のなか、コンサートは終幕を迎えました。

このコンサートのチケット代、および寄付金は総額581,331円。これらは全額、ハンズオン東京の東北プロジェクトでの活動資金にあてさせていただきます。素晴らしい演奏をしてくださったご出演者の皆様、ご来場くださった皆様、コンサートをサポートしてくださったボランティアの皆様、本当にどうもありがとうございました。

Global Giving Matching Campaign

During the "Global Giving Matching Campaign" in March of this year, we received generous donations from our supporters. As a result, Hands On Tokyo was able to raise over $10,000 including the matching amount donated by Global Giving.

The community center, called the “O-Link House” in Ishinomaki-Shi, Ogatsu-Cho, celebrated its 1st Anniversary in April of this year. Hands On Tokyo helped coordinate the building of this center which was built with the hope of providing  "a place to gather and enjoy” for those who survived the disaster.

100% of the donations made through the Global Giving Matching Campaign will fund Hands On Tokyo activities in Tohoku, including at the "O-Link House”.

Thank you very much for all your continued and generous support which means so much to those still trying to rebuild their lives in Tohoku. 

Global Giving マッチングキャンペーン

今年３月に実施された「Global Giving マッチングキャンペーン」では、皆様から多くの寄付をいただきました。これに Global Giving マッチングキャンペーンでのマッチング（上乗せ金額）を合わせ、ハンズオン東京は総額10,000ドル以上の寄付金をいただくことができました。

「東北被災地のみなさんが集い、楽しむ場所を作りたい」という思いでハンズオン東京が建設した宮城県石巻市雄勝町の「オーリンクハウス」は、おかげさまで今年４月にオープンから１周年を迎えました。皆様からいただいた寄付金は、全額、この「オーリンクハウス」を始めとするハンズオン東京の東北での活動資金にあてさせていただきます。相変わらずの多くのご支援に心から感謝いたします。皆様からのサポートは、東北被災地復興への大きな力となります。

Hands On Tokyo Tohoku Project

One of our most recent Tohoku projects took place on March 29th and 30th. Hands On Tokyo volunteers helped build a new greenhouse in Yamamoto-cho, Miyagi-ken. On the second day, the volunteers served yaki soba, French toast and other treats at a cafe for temporary housing residents and a volunteer performed and taught hula dances for the residents participating in their Spring Festival.

Hands On Tokyo continues to hope for the recovery of the affected areas in Tohoku and is resolved to continue our support of this region.

ハンズオン東京 東北プロジェクト

去る３月29日、30日に、ハンズオン東京・東北プロジェクトが行われました。この３月のプロジェクトは、宮城県亘理郡山元町で新しい温室の設営作業のお手伝い。仮設住宅でのカフェでは、焼きそば、フレンチトーストなどのメニューを揃え、ボランティアによるフラダンスのエンターテイメントなどで地元恒例の春祭りを盛り上げました。

ハンズオン東京は、東北被災地の復興を願い、これからもできる限りのサポートをしていきたいと考えています。
