Message from Executive Director
一人ひとりの個性が輝き、お互いに手を差しのべ、サポートしあう社会を目指して。ハンズオン東京は強く元気に邁進しております！ 

- 2022年9月25日（日）にハンズオン東京主催の「第１回 Youth Summit 2022」そして「第６回 LIVES Tokyo 2022」両方を時間をわけて開催予定です。  
- 他のNPO、また福祉施設や団体、そしてユースでは学校・大学などパートナーとの協力・連携を強化してまいります。  
- 関西プロジェクトを立ち上げます。  
-「受益者」を「ボランティア」に変えるプロジェクトを始めます。高齢化している農業を支援するボランティア、荒川を清掃するボランティアなど、社会課題に、皆さんで一緒に身体を動かして取り組んでまいりたいと思っています。  

社会ニーズを丁寧に把握して、お伝えして、活動にしていきます。  
2022年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

Aiming for a society where each individual is valued, and where people proactively support each other, Hands On Tokyo has been proactively and energetically initiating new activities! 

- The ‘1st Youth Summit 2022’ and the ‘6th LIVES Tokyo’ will be held on the same day, September 25 (Sun.)  
- We will leverage collaboration with other NPOs, social welfare companies and groups, with schools and universities.   
- We will start activities in the west (Osaka, Nagoya).  
- We will originate programs that would turn ‘recipients’ into ‘volunteers’.  Together with children living in Children’s Homes and special needs community, we will volunteer to help old farmers in their busy seasons and work on river cleaning in Arakawa River.   

We shall grasp the social needs accurately, communicate well, and energetically promote our activities.    

We welcome and appreciate your support and engagement!!!

◆4月はグローバルボランティア月間です！
April is Global Volunteer Month!


ハンズオン東京では、4月のグローバルボランティア月間に、荒川クリーニング、私たちのパートナー団体、スペシャルニーズの方とのウォーキングなど、さまざまな活動を予定しています。
また、身近なところで自由にボランティア活動をしていただく「マイ・リトル・デイオブサービス（My Little Day of Service」も募集予定です。個人で、ご家族と、お友だちとなど、皆さんが楽しんだボランティア活動を私たちとシェアしてください。

Hands On Tokyo will have various activities during the Global Volunteer Month in April. Events such as cleaning the Arakawa River, and a walking event with our Partners, special needs athletes etc. We will also run our "My Little Day of Service," where you are free to do volunteer work in your immediate area. Please share your volunteer activities you have enjoyed, whether individually, with your family, or with friends.

2月6日（日）に「ユースサミット 2022」キックオフイベントをオンラインで開催し、約70名のユースの皆さんにご参加いただきました。どうもありがとうございました！

On Sunday, February 6, we held the "Youth Summit 2022" kick-off event on zoom, and about 70 youths participated in the event. Thank you for joining us!
＊ユースサミット 2022 - 9月25日（日）開催！
「児童養護施設」「障がい者インクルージョン」「貧困」「環境・エコロジー」の４つの視点から課題の解決ができるアイディアを考案・実行していきます。

◆ボランティア募集中です！
We Need Volunteers!

スペシャルニーズの子どもたち、児童養護施設の子どもたちと一緒に、英語を使って楽しい時間を過ごすプログラムをリードしてくださるボランティアを募集しています。

We are looking for volunteers to lead our English programs. In these programs, you will have a great time using English with special needs children, or children from the Children's Home.

★えいごであそぼう（Fun with English）
毎月1回、最終週の水曜日、16時から30-40分（オンライン）
スペシャルニーズの子どもたちが通う放課後デイサービスでの楽しい交流会です。イラストをつかって動物や色の名前を覚えたり、英語の歌を一緒に歌ったりします。
 
★たのしい！えいかいわ（Easy Casual English）
隔月1回、第2日曜日、15時から60分（オンライン / ハイブリッド / 対面）
スペシャルニーズの若者たちと一緒に、英語の歌やゲームなど、英語をテーマに楽しい時間を過ごします。

★児童養護施設の子どもたちのための英会話プログラム
毎月1回、第3週/最終日曜日、15時から60分（オンライン / 対面）
児童養護施設の子どもたちと、単語やフレーズを学びながら、簡単な英会話を楽しみます。生徒たちの英会話や国際理解をサポートするプログラムです。

条件：
- 15歳以上で、日本語と英語が話せる方。日本語をメインに話す方の英語の目安は、TOEIC 450点以上、または英検準2級以上。英語をメインに話す方は子どもたちと日本語でコミュニケーションができる方（シンプルな日本語で大丈夫です）。
- 対面の活動になった場合は、ハンズオン東京の「新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止に関する同意書」「新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止に関するお願い」に同意をお願いします。
★Fun with English
Once a month, last Wednesday of the month, 4:00 p.m. for 30-40 minutes (Online)
This program will be a fun social activity at an after-school class for children with special needs. We will use illustrations to learn the names of animals and colors, and sing English songs together.

★Easy Casual English
Once every other month, 2nd Sunday, 3:00 p.m. for 60 minutes (Online / Hybrid / Face-to-Face)
We will have a fun time with English songs, games, and other English themes, with special needs youth.

★English Conversation Program for Children from the Children's Home
Once a month, 3rd week/last Sunday of the month, 3:00 p.m. for 60 minutes (Online / Face-to-Face)
We will enjoy fun English conversation using simple words and phrases with children from the Children's Home, in order to enhance their English conversational skills and knowledge of other countries.

Guidelines:
- Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and speak both Japanese and English. English speakers who are able to communicate with children in Japanese (simple Japanese is fine). For Japanese speakers, the standard English level is TOEIC 450 or above, or EIKEN Grade Pre-2 or higher.
- If the activity is face-to-face, please note, you must agree to the "COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgement - Waiver Form" and "Volunteers Safety Precautions Guidelines".

2021年～22年、冬のシーズンに開催されたハンズオン東京のコミュニティプログラムをダイジェストでご紹介します。

Here is a digest of the Hands On Tokyo Community Programs held during the winter season, 2021-22.
◆児童養護施設の子どもたちとのオーナメント作り  
Make Ornaments with the Children's Home

昨年12月に、児童養護施設「希望の家」の皆さんと一緒に、ホリーデーシーズンのオーナメント作りのプロジェクトを実施しました。  

Last December, we held a project to make ornaments for the holiday season, with the Children's Home Kibo-no-Ie. Here are some photos from the event, and message from Home Kibo-no-Ie.

■希望の家からのメッセージ
「クリスマスオーナメントクラフトでは、子どもたちの可愛いオーナメントが沢山できました。それぞれ個性豊かな作品は、クリスマス時期に各グループさんに可愛く飾られていました。感想でも楽しかったという声がたくさん届いております」

■Message from Kibo-no-Ie
"In the Holiday Season Ornament Craft project, the children made many cute ornaments. Each of the children's unique creations were adorably displayed in each group during the holiday season. We received many comments from the children that they had a great time."
◆Hands On Day with 勇気の翼  
Hands On Day with Yuki-no-Tsubasa

昨年12月に「Hands On Day with 勇気の翼」をオンラインで行いました。「勇気の翼」は、「障がいの有無にかかわらず、 すべての人がイキイキといのちを輝かせる社会」を目指しているNPO法人です。この日は、みんなでオーナメントを作ったり、ミュージックベルの演奏や「ジングルベル」を歌ったりして楽しい時間を過ごしました。

Last December, we had a great time at our online Hands On Day activity, with "Yuki-no-Tsubasa." "Yuuki no tsubasa," meaning "wings of courage" in Japanese, is a Japanese NPO that aims to create an 'inclusive society,' where all people, regardless of whether they have disabilities or not, can live their lives to the fullest. On this day, everyone enjoyed making ornaments, music bells performance, and singing the “Jingle Bells” song.
◆LIVES キッチンカー OOPEN!
LIVES Food Truck OOPEN!

昨年12月、キッチンカーOOPEN!のスタッフとボランティアは、ブラシや雑巾、スポンジを使って、キッチンカーのメンテナンスを行いました。古いカウンターもとりはずし、新しい白いカウンターを設置。私たちのキッチンカーはきれいになり、とてもすっきりしました。2022年も、OOPEN! は皆様のご支援のもと、地域社会に貢献していきます。応援よろしくお願いします！

In December 2021, staff and volunteers cleaned the inside and outside of the food-truck, with brushes and rags and sponges! We took out the old shelf at the window, and put in a new white one, which makes the food truck clean and much nicer. With your support, OOPEN will continue to serve the community this year.
■運動機能開発プログラム
Motor Development Program

昨年12月のMDP（Motor Development Program、運動機能開発プログラム）は、代々木の会場からプログラムをライブ配信し、皆さんとオンラインでつながる、ハイブリッド形式で行われました。MDPは、スペシャルオリンピックスのアスリートとコーチの皆さん、そしてハンズオン東京のボランティアの皆さんで、楽しく体を動かすプログラムです。新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響により、2021年もオンラインでの活動になりましたが、皆さんの温かいサポートで楽しくプログラムを行うことができました。どうもありがとうございました！

The Motor Development Program (MDP) was held as a hybrid event (on-site, Yoyogi and online) in December, 2021. This program is a fun, physical exercise program with Special Olympics athletes. In consideration of the impact of the spread of COVID-19, this activities in 2021 were online, however, we were able to have a fun time and enjoy the program. Thank you all for your warm support!
■オンライン Sign Language Cafe
Virtual Sign Language Cafe

1月にオンラインで手話のワークショップ「Virtual Sign Language Cafe」を開催しました。今回のテーマは「年始の会話」。あけましておめでとうございます / 良い年になるといいですね / 年始のお休みは何をしてましたか？ / 家族に会いました / 友だちに会いました / 家で映画を見ました / ニューイヤー駅伝を見ました……などを楽しく練習しました。この活動は毎月１回、週末に開催しています。どうぞご参加ください！

"What did you do during the new-year holidays?" "I visited my family." "I'll have this coffee." "I saw my friends." "I watched movies at home." ◆パソコン教室プロジェクト  
Computer Class Project for Special Needs

ハンズオン東京ではスペシャルニーズの方のためのパソコン教室プロジェクトを実施しました。ボランティアの皆さんには、生徒さんがさまざまなコンピュータースキルを楽しく身につけるためのサポートをしていただきます。この活動は、「パソコン動作を学ぶお手伝い」というユニークな方法で、スペシャルニーズの皆さんと楽しく交流する機会を作ることも目的としています。今回は某外資系保険会社チームの皆さんがボランティアとして参加してくださいました。

Hands On Tokyo held a computer class project for special needs. In this project, volunteers will assist young adults with special needs in learning a variety of fun and practical computer skills. This activity is a great opportunity to interact closely with the special needs community in a unique and fun way. This time, we had a group of volunteers from a foreign insurance company.
