８月23日（土）、ヒルトン東京で、今期の「Life Skills プログラム」最終成果発表会を開催しました。Life Skills プログラムは、就職や転職などキャリアアップを目指す障がいのある若者のスキル向上を支援する取り組みです。最終成果発表会では、参加者がそれぞれの成果をスピーチや今回新たにプログラムの一環として実施した Digital Storytelling（デジタル・ストーリーテリング）という手法を通して発表しました。

Digital Storytelling とは、写真・映像・音声などのデジタルメディアを活用して物語を伝える方法で、個人の体験を映像や音声と組み合わせて表現することで、感情に訴え、共感や理解を深めることができます。発表のあとは交流会が開かれ、参加した企業の皆さんとともに障がい者インクルージョンに関するさまざまな情報交換が行われました。
On Saturday, August 23, the final presentation of this term’s Life Skills Program was held at the Hilton Tokyo. The Life Skills Program is designed to help young people with special needs enhance their skills and prepare for the next steps in their careers, such as employment or career transitions. At the final presentation, participants shared what they had learned through speeches and, for the first time, by using a new method introduced in this year’s program － Digital Storytelling. 

Digital Storytelling is a method of conveying stories using digital media such as photos, videos, and audio. By combining personal experiences with visual and sound elements, it allows individuals to express themselves in ways that inspire empathy and deeper understanding. After the presentations, a networking session was held, where participants and company representatives exchanged ideas and insights on disability inclusion.

Special Olympics Nippon Tokyo
８月24日（日）、スペシャルオリンピックス日本・東京によるユニファイド・デイキャンプ「誰でもチアダンス」が開催され、ハンズオン東京のボランティア11名が運営をサポートしました。ユニファイドスポーツは、知的障がいのあるアスリートと、障がいのないパートナーがチームを組み、ともにスポーツを楽しむスペシャルオリンピックス独自の取り組みです。

このキャンプでは、アスリートが保護者と離れて一日を過ごし、パートナーと活動を共にすることで自立と自信を育みます。一方、パートナーは日常ではなかなか接する機会の少ない障がいのある方々と交流し、多様性を理解し尊重する大切さを学びます。当日は約40名のアスリートとパートナーが参加し、たくさんの笑顔とチームワークにあふれる一日となりました。

On Sunday, August 24, Special Olympics Nippon Tokyo held a Unified Day Camp for competitive cheerleading, titled “Cheer Dance for Everyone.” eleven Hands On Tokyo volunteers supported the event’s operations throughout the day. Unified Sports is a unique Special Olympics initiative where athletes with intellectual disabilities and partners without disabilities form teams and enjoy sports together. 
During the camp, athletes spent the day apart from their parents, building confidence and independence through teamwork with their partners. Meanwhile, partners had the opportunity to communicate and connect with individuals with disabilities－an experience designed to deepen understanding of diversity and the importance of creating an inclusive society. Approximately 40 athletes and partners participated in the camp, sharing smiles, teamwork, and a spirit of unity.

ハンズオン東京のコミュニティプログラムをより充実した活動にするために、大きな支えとなってくれる存在がボランティアリーダーの皆さんです。そのボランティアリーダーの皆さんに、ボランティア活動での経験や思いを共有していただくギャザリングを開催いたしました。
この日、笑顔と活気にあふれたひとときから、新しいつながりや気づき、そしてアイデアも生まれました。ハンズオン東京は、これからもボランティアリーダーの皆さんと共に、地域社会にポジティブな変化を届けていきます。
Volunteer Leaders are the driving force that make Hands On Tokyo’s community programs more meaningful and impactful. Recently, we hosted a Volunteer Leader Gathering where our leaders shared their experiences and reflections from volunteer activities. The event was filled with smiles and energy, and it sparked new connections, insights, and ideas. Together with our Volunteer Leaders, Hands On Tokyo will continue to bring positive change to our community.

What is a Volunteer Leader?
A Volunteer Leader is a passionate volunteer who serves as a bridge between fellow volunteers, our partner organizations, and Hands On Tokyo. They are reliable and dedicated individuals who work together with our staff to ensure that projects run smoothly. Hands On Tokyo is looking for multiple Volunteer Leaders for each of our projects. Since our volunteers come from diverse international backgrounds, those who speak both Japanese and English are especially welcome as Volunteer Leaders!
