■ありすの杜スマイルプロジェクト

（ハンズオン東京インターン）
8月26日（水）、ハンズオン東京は特別養護老人ホームありすの杜で、"ありすの杜スマイルプロジェクト" 行いました。私たちは盆踊りパーティー、そしてスイカ割りを楽しみました。心地よい雰囲気と音楽療法が私たちをリラックスさせてくれました。当日は雨だったにもかかわらず、みんな素晴らしい時を過ごしました！
■Arisu no Mori Smile Project

On Wednesday, August 26th, Hands On Tokyo held an Arisu no Mori Smile Project at a special elderly nursing home. We enjoyed a Bon-odori party (Japanese traditional dance party) and a watermelon splitting game. The cozy atmosphere and musical therapy helped make us and the nursing home residents feel relaxed. Despite the rain, everybody had a great time!

■済生会乳児院 ガーデニング＆お庭のメンテナンスプロジェクト
8月21日（金）の済生会乳児院「ガーデニング＆お庭のメンテナンスプロジェクト」では、子どもたちが遊ぶ庭や施設のまわりの草むしりをしました。参加してくださったみなさん、どうもありがとうございました！
■Gardening and Ground Maintenance Project for Infants’ Home
Hands On Tokyo held a Gardening and Ground Maintenance Project at the Saiseikai Infants' Home, on Friday, August 21st. We maintained the garden and pulled up weeds around the facility. Thank you for participating in the project! |

■済生会乳児院お誕生会の飾り付プロジェクト
9月15日（火）に、ハンズオン東京のボランティアは、済生会乳児院お誕生会の飾り付けの準備を手伝いました。秋といえばスポーツ。今回のテーマは「スポーツの秋」です。かわいくできましたよ！
■Decorating Project for Infants’ Home
On Tuesday, September 15th, Hands On Tokyo volunteers organized a birthday celebration for the children at the Saiseikai Infants’ Home. This event's theme was "Sports". Autumn is the best season for sports! The volunteers did a great job! |

「一番印象に残っているボランティア活動は、済生会乳児院でのガーデニングで、子供たちと一緒に外でトマトを植えたことです。子どもたちはとってもかわいかったです。ボランティア活動をしながらいろいろな人を手伝い、多くの人に出会いたいです」
“What stuck with me the most is when I went to the infants’ home to help with the gardening activities, and they had the kids outside planting tomatoes with us. It was very cute... Through volunteering I hope to help other people, and to meet many people in Japan.”

「一番印象に残っているのは、アメリカで留学しているときにやっていた老人ホームでのボランティアです。週に一度、ボランティアとして老人ホームに行き、一緒にお話をしたり、日本の文化を伝えたり……という活動をしていました。ボランティアを通して、いろいろな人と出会い、多くの世界を見ることで成長し、さまざまな価値観を知ることができたらいいなと思います」
“What stuck with me the most was volunteering at an elderly home while I was studying abroad in the US. I would go to the elderly home once a week, and talk with the people there and teach them about the Japanese culture. Through volunteering, I hope to meet people from various backgrounds. I hope to grow and to learn about many different values through seeing different worlds.”

◇デイ・オブ・サービス 2015 のご案内
Day Of Service 2015
「デイ・オブ・サービス（DOS）」は、ハンズオン東京のパートナー団体と企画した複数のイベントに、スポンサー企業の方やボランティアの方たちが参加して、多くのみなさまと充実した楽しいひとときを過ごそう、という趣旨で行われるイベント・デーです。開催日時は10月4日（日）10:30 - 15:00、開催場所は旧飯倉小学校（港区東麻布2-1-1）です。ぜひ、お気軽に遊びにいらしてください。
今年のおもなイベント：消防署による防災・救急体験、車いす・点字ブロック体験、介助犬デモンストレーション、ふれあい動物園、ゲーム・クラフト ほか
ボランティア、スタッフ一同、皆さんにお会いするのを楽しみにしています！

This year we are going to hold our annual Day of Service (DOS) on Sunday, October 4th, from 10:30 am to 3 pm at the Former Iikura Elementary School in Minato-ku, Tokyo. DOS is a one-day-event when many volunteers and sponsors come together to celebrate volunteerism. Please join us for a fun event!
Main Events: Disaster prevention and emergency training by the fire department, wheelchair and Braille blocks experience, demonstration by a service dog, petting zoo, games, crafts and more.
We look forward to seeing you.
