Hands On Tokyo Spring Charity Concert 2017

参加費：3,000円
*このコンサートの収益は、すべてハンズオン東京の東北被災地支援活動、東北プロジェクトにあてさせていただきます。

■東北プロジェクト
昨年12月の東北プロジェクトでは、アメリカンスクール・イン・ジャパンのボーイスカウトのグループ、「Troop5」のメンバー15名が山元町と雄勝町に行きました。今回もハンズオン東京がこれまで支援してきた農家の方たちを訪れ、農作業のお手伝いをしました。これは約６年前にこの地域を襲った震災を忘れないための素晴らしい機会となりました。
初日、ボーイスカウトのメンバーたちは、山元町の斉藤さんの農園でお手伝いをしました。この活動は、斉藤さん、そして私たちボランティアにとって特に励みになっています。なぜなら、この活動では、ハンズオン東京のボランティアたちが、初めてこの農園でのサポートを始めてからの成果を見ることができるからです。今回、ボーイスカウトのメンバーたちは、ナスの収穫後の畑をクリーンアップし、さまざまな農業技術について学びました。
２日目は雄勝町での活動でした。甚大な被害を受けた雄勝町の大川小学校を訪れ、被害の状況を視察し、亡くなられた方々にお祈りをしました。その後、地元のローズガーデンファクトリーでお手伝いをしました。ここではバラ園の雑草をきれいに抜いて、たくさんのチューリップを植えました。現地の方から震災の様子、復興の様子を伺い、改めて何ができるかを考える機会になりました。
そして、アメリカン・エキスプレス社のボランティアの皆さんが作って下さったクリスマスソックスとクリスマスリースを雄勝町の老人ホームにお住まいの皆さんにお届けしました。

■Tohoku Project
This past December, the American School in Japan Boy Scouts Troop 5 sent 15 of their students to the Tohoku region to perform various tasks in Yamamoto-cho and Ogatsu-cho cities. It was a special opportunity to reconnect with families Hands On Tokyo has served in the past, to help sustain agriculture in the prefecture and to remember the earthquake and tsunami that struck the area nearly six years ago.
On the first day, the boys traveled to Yamamoto-cho to work at the Saito family owned farm, where Hands On Tokyo has worked many times before. These have been particularly encouraging visits for the Saito family and our volunteers, because everyone is able to see all the progress that has been made since Hands On Tokyo first began working there. This time the Boy Scouts helped clear a large eggplant field, and learned different agricultural techniques.
The second day took a more serious tone with a visit to Ogatsu-cho. The Boy Scouts worked in a local rose factory and toured the significantly damaged area around the Okawa Elementary School. There they paid their respects to the children and teachers who tragically perished and contemplated the terrible events of that fatefu day. It inspired the students to think about ways they can continue to help families recovering from the Tohoku disaster.
Before the new year, Hands On Tokyo also delivered hand crafted Christmas stockings and wreaths to a nursing home in Tohoku. |

■デイサービス・センター友興の園 そば作りプロジェクト
11月30日（水）にデイサービス・センター友興の園の皆さんと「そば作りプロジェクト」を行いました。友興の園の皆さんは、ボランティアにおそばの作り方を教えてくださるなど、とても積極的に参加してくださいました。プロジェクトの終わりには、参加した全員が頑張ったあとのおいしいご褒美として、おそばを食べることができました。全てのことが楽しい一日でした。
■Making Soba Noodles Project at Yukonosono Center for the Elderly
On November 30th, 2016, Hands On Tokyo volunteers made soba noodles at the Yukonosono Center for the Elderly with some very lively participants. Many of the participants ended up teaching the volunteers how to make soba noodles, and very actively participated in making soba. In the end, everyone was able to partake in eating soba noodles together, a delicious reward after a lot of hard work. It was a fun day to be had by all.

■KoKo Club（視覚障がいのある方のための英語レッスン）
12月3日、Koko Clubのメンバーとハンズオン東京のボランティアは、クリスマスのお祝いをしました。クリスマスキャロルを歌ったり、クッキーデコレーションをしたり、ケーキを食べたりして、賑やかにおしゃべりを楽しみました。そしてなんと！ サンタも登場！ 集まった皆さんが一緒にホリデーのスピリットを分かち合う、素晴らしい機会となりました。おいしいケーキやお茶を準備してくださったKoko Clubのお母様の皆さん、どうもありがとうございました！
■KoKo Club（English Conversation for the Visually Impaired）
On December 3rd, 2016, Koko Club members and Hands On Tokyo volunteers celebrated Christmas together. Christmas carols were sung, cookies were decorated, and there were assorted cakes to eaten over lively conversation. There was even a surprise visit from Santa! It was a wonderful way to share the holiday spirit with this special community. Thank you to the Koko Club mothers who provided delicious cakes and teas!

■ありすの杜 スマイルプロジェクト
12月14日（水）、ハンズオン東京のボランティアは、特別養護老人ホーム「ありすの杜」でクリスマスパーティーを開催しました。ヴァイオリニストの吉田美里さんの演奏に合わせてクリスマスソングを歌ったりしました。ありすの杜のスタッフで、台湾出身のシンガーの方が懐メロを歌ってくれました。また、Worldpayの社員の方も沢山いらしてくださって大変盛り上がりました。
■Arisu no Mori Smile Project
On Wednesday, December 14th, Hands On Tokyo Volunteers and the Arisunomori Senior Home residents had a wonderful Christmas party. Our violinist, Misato Yoshida-san, performed for us, playing Christmas songs while we sang along. A Taiwanese singer and staff member of Arisunomori, performed for us, singing "Natsu Mero" (Japanese Oldies). Also, a lot of "Worldpay" volunteers joined us. Thank you for coming! We had a great time!

■運動機能開発プログラム
１月14日（土）に「MDP（Motor Development Program、運動機能開発プログラム）」が開催されました。このプログラムでは発達障害のある小学生のアスリートたちが、ダンスやエクササイズ、ゲーム等を通じて運動機能を少しずつ伸ばしていく過程を、スペシャルオリンピックスのコーチと一緒にサポートします。３月は25日（土）の開催です。どうぞ、ご参加ください！
■Motor Development Program
On Saturday, January 14th, we held the Motor Development Program. In this program, we help elementary children with intellectual disabilities (not physical disabilities) get physical exercise. Each volunteer is paired with a special needs child and assists the child in performing physical activities which are led by Special Olympics coaches. The March program will take place on Saturday, March 25th. We would love to have you join us! |
