東日本大震災から６年目となる今年、2017年3月10日に「第4回 ハンズオン東京スプリングチャリティーコンサート 2017」がアムウェイホールにて開催されました。ポップス、日本の伝統音楽、ヴァイオリンとギターのデュエットなど、多様性とコラボレーションをコンセプトに、多くの方々が楽しめるように構成されました。この特別なイベントのために時間と才能を捧げてくれたすべてのパフォーマーに心より感謝いたします。

また、４年間連続して快くMCを務めてくださり、日頃よりハンズオン東京の活動に対して賛同し、献身していただいているスチュアート オーさんに厚く御礼申し上げます。
お陰様を持ちまして、160名もの方々にご参加いただき、東日本大震災の影響を受けた方々のために多額の基金を集めることができました。
昨年、ハンズオン東京は、ボーイスカウトの高校生らを含めた老若男女のボランティアを何度も東北へ送り、農地の整地やコミュニティ施設のメンテナンス作業などの活動を行いました。
皆さまのご支援のもと、ハンズオン東京は引き続き東北地域でのニーズをふまえた意義のあるプロジェクトを推進し、全国の被災地域への関心を高めることを追求いたします。今後とも、当団体への変わらぬご支援を、どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。
The Fourth Annual Hands On Tokyo Spring Charity Concert 2017 was held this year at Amway Hall on March 10th, almost six years to the day of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck off the Tohoku coastline.
The event centered around the diversity of performers and their original collaborations amongst one another, and included pop anthems, traditional Japanese music, and a violin and guitar duet. It was a very special event, and we want to thank all the performers for donating their time and talent to this event.

We also want to extend a special thank you to our MC, Stuart O, who has made incredible contributions to Hands On Tokyo for the past four years. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our organization.
160 people attended the event and we raised significant funds for people affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku. This past year, we have been able to send volunteers up to Tohoku several times, including a group of boy scouts. Our volunteers did crucial tasks such as helping clear and prepare farmland and community building.
With your generous support, we will continue to pursue meaningful projects in the area, and to raise further awareness about the plight of those residing in the north of Japan. We hope that you will continue to stay involved with our organization and watch how we grow our volunteer activities this year.

式町水晶さん（バイオリン）と稲葉敬さん（ギター）。式町さんは幼少の頃、脳性まひの障がいを克服するためのリハビリとしてバイオリンを始め、プロになったそう
Mizuki Shikimachi (Violin) and Takashi Inaba (Guitar). Shikimachi began playing the violin while he underwent rehabilitation for his brain paralysis in his youth. Eventually, the violin became more than a passion, but a profession. |
2011年３月11日の震災当日、コンサートのため石巻を訪れていたというヴォーカリストのクミコさん。今回は「愛の讃歌」「生まれてきてくれてありがとう」などを歌ってくださいました

演奏の締めくくってくださったのはこの３人。クミコさんの歌声、中村さんの尺八と中島さんの琴の音色、息の合った素晴らしいコラボレートに会場は盛り上がりました
The sounds of Kumiko’s crystal clear voice alongside the exotic melody of Nakamura’s Shakuhachi and Nakajima’s Koto playing was an ideal way to close the evening and reflected the teamwork and partnership that Hands On Tokyo strives to achieve.

■ギフトラッピング プロジェクト for 東北
3月29日（水）、ハンズオン東京のオフィスにて、「ギフトラッピング プロジェクト for 東北」を行いました。ご寄付いただいたスカーフをきれいにギフトラップして東北の仮設住宅や老人ホームなどにお送りしました。お手伝いしてくださったボランティアの皆さん、どうもありがとうございました！
■Gift Wrapping Project for Tohoku
On Wednesday, March 29th, Hands On Tokyo held a Gift Wrapping Project for Tohoku. at our office. Volunteers prepared wonderful gifts for the residents of a temporary housing and senior home in Tohoku. We gift-wrapped scarves, which were kindly donated for this project. Beautifully done! Thank you to our fabulous Volunteers!

■筑波大学付属視覚特別支援学校 英会話
3月12日（日）に、ハンズオン東京は、筑波大学付属視覚特別支援学校が運営する英会話プロジェクトに参加しました。このプログラムは、視覚特別支援学校の高校生が運営している「国際交流クラブ」で、生徒たちの英会話や国際理解をサポートするプログラムです。今回は、みんなで川越、小江戸へ散歩へ行きました。次回は４月30日に開催予定です。皆様の参加をお待ちしております。
■English Conversation at the Special Needs Education School for the Visually Impaired, University of Tsukuba
On Sunday, March 12th, we held an English Conversation Program for visually impaired high school students. This English Conversation Program was initiated and is managed by students from the School for the Visually Impaired, University of Tsukuba, for the purpose of cultural exchange and learning English. We walked around KOEDO, in Kawagoe City. The next session will be held on Sunday, April 30th.

■グローバル・ロジスティック・プロパティーズ株式会社様：絵本の翻訳プロジェクト
GLPのボランティア５名が、児童養護施設希望の家の子どもたち13名と一緒に、カンボジアの子どもたちのために日本語の絵本にクメール語の翻訳シールを貼る活動を実施しました。カンボジアの子どもたちに向けて可愛らしいメッセージカードも作りました。子どもたちが他の誰かのためにボランティアをする貴重な機会となりました。ご参加いただいた皆さん、ありがとうございました！
■Global Logistic Properties：Picture Book Translation Project
Five GLP volunteers offered a rare opportunity for the 13 children living at Kibonoie children's home to stick translation labels on the Japanese picture books for the children in Cambodia. They also made a warm message card for the Cambodian children. Many thanks to GLP volunteers and the children!

◇復興支援ベースボールプロジェクト

ハンズオン東京では、東北、熊本、東京都港区の３つの地域の中学生野球チームが合同合宿を行う「復興支援ベースボールプロジェクト」を企画しています。このプロジェクトは、プロ野球選手による野球教室や交流試合などを通して、被災地の野球少年・少女の心に残る思い出づくりを応援したいという思いからスタートしました。また、防災への意識向上をともに考える機会を設け、震災の風化を防ぐこと、災害時に自ら行動を起こせる、若い世代のリーダーシップの育成も目標としています。

The Hands On Tokyo Baseball Project for Disaster Relief will unite three middle school baseball teams from Tohoku, Kumamoto and Tokyo. The teams will divide their time equally between baseball training and fostering meaningful dialogue about natural disasters with the goal of empowering young people to become strong contributors and leaders in their local communities. It will also be an exciting once in a lifetime opportunity for them to practice baseball with professional baseball players.
