2016年に開催された第１回の野球プロジェクトは、グラウンドに仮設住宅が建設されるなどで思うように練習ができない東北の中学生の野球少年を東京に招待し、港区の同年代の野球少年との合同合宿を実施しました。２度目の開催となる今回は、2016年に地震の被害を受けた熊本からのチームも加わり、東北、熊本、港区の３つの地域の野球チームが初めて合同合宿を行いました。

In an effort to raise awareness about natural disasters and provide unique opportunities to earthquake survivors, the baseball project was founded in 2016. As a result of the project, the Tohoku middle school students were able to perfect their baseball skills alongside Minato-ku students while discussing their experiences in their home region. Motivated by our desire to reach as many communities in need, Hands On Tokyo invited a baseball team from Kumamoto to participate in the baseball project this year. As a result, three teams from Tohoku, Minato-ku and Kumamoto were enrolled in the baseball project.

震災の風化を防ぐため、いつ起こるかわからない震災に備えるために、若い世代に語り継ぐ機会を設け、防災への意識向上、行動を起こしていくことができるリーダーシップの育成なども目標とし、45名の野球少年・少女たちとともに行いました。３チームの交流試合、ボランティア活動、熊本・東北のプレゼンテーションを通して、一緒に考える機会を設けることができました。

In order to prepare for natural disasters and to try to prevent as much damage as possible caused by these unexpected events, 45 baseball players, including one female baseball player, participated in an earthquakes awareness and leadership building program on the third day of the baseball project. Through presentations, discussions about earthquakes and sharing their personal experiences, the children were given opportunities to think and to create solutions together.

■ガーデニング＆お庭のメンテナンスプロジェクト

7月21日（金）に済生会乳児院で「ガーデニング＆お庭のメンテナンスプロジェクト」を行いました。子どもたちが遊ぶ庭や施設のまわりのおそうじをし、花壇のメンテナンスをしました。参加してくださった皆さん、ありがとうございました！　次回の開催は10月20日（金）です。ぜひご参加ください！

■Gardening and Ground Maintenance Project

Hands On Tokyo held a Gardening and Ground Maintenance Project at Saiseikai Infants Home on Friday, July 21st. Volunteers maintained the flower bed and cleaned up around the facility for the kids. Thank you all for participating in the project! The next session will be held on Friday, October 20th. See you then!

■ブラインドテニス - 東京ミラクルスターズ

8月5日（土）に葛飾エイトホールにて、ブラインドテニスの練習会が行われました。とても蒸し暑い日でしたが、東京ミラクルスターズの選手たちとハンズオン東京のボランティアは、テニスをして楽しい時間を過ごしました。

■Blind Tennis Program - Tokyo Miracle Stars

On Saturday, August 5th, a practice session of Blind Tennis was performed at Katsushika Eight Hall. It was very sultry day. Blind Tennis Players from Tokyo Miracle Stars and Hands On Tokyo Volunteers enjoyed tennis and had a great time.

■済生会乳児院飾り付けプロジェクト

8月8日（火）に済生会乳児院飾り付けプロジェクトを行いました。今回のテーマは “夏の浜辺”。カラフルな貝殻、かに、ひとで、かもめなど、夏の楽しいビーチをイメージしてデザインしました！

■Decoration Project for Saiseikai Infants Home

On Tuesday, August 8th, we held a Decoration Project for the Saiseikai Infants Home. This project's theme was “Summer Beach”. We set up the decoration board with many colorful shells, crabs, starfish and seagulls. It looks fun!
