[What is LIVES Project]
It is extremely difficult for the mentally and physically challenged to gain employment in Japan. Most Japanese companies actively try to avoid hiring a mentally or physically challenged individual. In trying to overcome this attitude, Hands On Tokyo launched the LIVES Project. Through the LIVES Project, we are trying to bring both sides together, and create a working environment that benefits everyone.
In addition, we are seeking to build deeper relationships with all people, regardless of disability or not. The LIVES Project is a positive first step in changing, for the better, the work and living environments for people with disabilities.
Your donations will help with the following expenses for the operation of the LIVES Project:
*Expenses for holding the “LIVES TOKYO” event on Saturday, September 16th. These costs include the use of Universal Design, which allows for all people to read venue signs, and to access all speeches and entertainment areas.
*The cost of operating a Cafe and Food Truck, managed by people with disabilities. This Food Truck will be assisted by youth volunteers.
*If more donations are gathered, these funds will go towards future “LIVES TOKYO” events, and the costs to continue current LIVES Projects.
*This donation is Japanese Yen tax deductible. For details on how to deduct this donation, please refer to the Cabinet Office NPO website (Japanese).
